Description
When you want to escape to the peace and quiet of nature but don't want to venture too far from home, Prairie Creek Provincial Recreation Area is the place to go. This recreation area is situated in a mature forest with many large trees, mossy forest floor and the pretty Prairie Creek running through it. Only a short half-hour drive from Rocky Mountain House, this hidden gem is accessed via a paved highway making it easy to get to. There are many pull-through campsites suitable for bigger trailers or smaller private sites for tenting. The two group camp areas are very scenic, situated next to the creek. Prairie Creek Large group camp area provides the ability to access OHV trails right from the campground.
